Said she could hear me singin' in the choir
Me, I heard another song
Hello, I am Billie and I have been Role playing for 4 years. I answer to Happy Jackie (or just Happy) and enjoy 'Long Time Gone' by The Dixie Chicks as well as cross-country skiing and mountain biking.
I caught wind
And hit the ground runnin'
Name: Kealdry Dale
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Race: Unknown (possibly German?)
Height: 5'8
Personality: Strong, passionate, committed, standoffish, tough-shelled, loner
History: Kel was born and raised in Minneola. Her father had one of the best dog sled teams in the area, and was an avid racer. When Kel was seven, her pa crashed through the ice during a race, the sled pulling him and all his dogs into freezing oblivion. It was a hard hit to her mother, and Kel had to grow up much faster than most kids. She cared for her little brother as her mom struggled with depression. She worked hard in school, getting a near to free ride to Oklahoma State University and escaping Minneola and all of the dark memories it held. She was welcomed eagerly into the veterinary program. Several months after graduation, she got a call from her brother. Her mother had died of a heart attack.
She decided it was time to head home. With her brother going to school in Fairbanks, someone needed to go take care of the estate (not that it was very big). And something else, too. Something was calling her home.
Likes: Single malt scotch, dogs, winter, clear nights
Dislikes: Most people, humidity, cities
Strengths: Calm in stressful situations, analytic, resourceful, leader
Weaknesses: domineering, hot-tempered, bossy
And Lord
I've been a Long Time Gone
Other Characters You Play: N/A
Sample Post: Keldry sighed as she entered her small apartment, the muggy heat of Stillwater pounding down on her. She'd just gotten Kegan's call. Mom was dead.
It just seemed unreal, like it was happening to someone else. A heart attack? She was healthy, she ran marathons, she ate right. It couldn't possibly be true. But it was. Kel kept waiting for it to hit her, to cry or at least feel sad, feel something. She took a shower, brushed her teeth, combed her hair... She even flossed, after some concideration. And then she stood there, in the middle of her living room, wearing an ex's t-shirt. Bed? It seemed wrong. It seemed strange to just go on living when the woman who'd raised her was dead. But there was nothing else to do, so she slept.
She dreamed, too. Carger, her dad's lead dog, tugged at her hand. She followed him, jogging to keep up with the fit husky mix. They never met their destination, but there was a feeling of urgency behind his wanderings. When Keldry opened her eyes, she knew what Carger was telling her.
It was time to go home.
