There was no doubt Leroux was unsatisfied with where she had ended up. Unfortunately, it just had to be this awful place. When she first came here, she was pulled and nearly strangled through an aisle of various other dogs as she resisted. Some snarled in their cages as she was forced past, while others sat distressed in the corner. The female had been placed in a cage and was left there. Only being fed every so often and coming into contact with others for a short amount of time. Leroux at first had numerous feelings, feelings of confusion, regret, sorrow, and anxiety. However her facade was calm and comprehending. She had yet to fully grow accustom to this place. The girl frowned, observing attentively at the things outside her run. Deep within her, worries fought to rise to the surface. Would it had been better to have went with her sister? To again be with the same species that had repeatedly left her to fend for her and her sister's well-being? Oh how she missed her sister...
Leroux mentally shook her head and laid curled up in her cage, facing the back to where her face couldn't be shown. The girl had nothing to do with people anymore and surely this wasn't a fate she would wish upon her sister. Maybe this was all just a bad dream? Maybe if she were to wake up, she wouldn't be here anymore, but instead with her sister like the old times. Those were some crappy old times, but at least she had her sister. "Hmph." This was a prison. Whenever she was able to leave, she didn't know. Leroux wished it all away, red and white hairs brushing along the small run that contained her. She couldn't be sure of how long she was here for but she would get out. Drifting asleep, she would dream of running on the snowy landscape, tongue out and with a happy twinkling in her eye. And her sister would be there too, oh, why not her whole family!? Even mom and dad. Then after, she would awake. Tongue lapping out to clean up her silky fur. Afterall, it was a bit filthy in this place.

------------------------ The low rumble of his dark red dodge ram echoed in his ears as he pulled up into the pound parking lot. Mingo was understandably nervous as he knew what this place was, he’d seen enough dogs brought in and not come out again. Alex glanced at his dog out of the corner of his eye, watching as Mingo seemed to tense. ”Relax boy, we’re just looking.” Pushing the door open after he’d parked and killed the ignition he stepped out followed closely by his dog. Clipping the leash on Mingo - something he rarely ever did - before shutting the truck door and leading the way inside. It was only once they were inside that Alex began to see how horrible the place was. It was dark, and in some sections damp and cold. Shaking his head he continued down the path ignoring the dogs that barked and lunged at their fences as he passed with Mingeto who for his part ignored them. Alex always brought Mingo along with him due to his dog aggression, he didn’t want to bring a dog home just to have to take it back when they didn’t get along.
He didn’t know how long they’d been walking up and down the isles but finally.. They came upon a run that appeared empty. That was until he peered inside, and blinked twice. A obviously beautiful husky or husky mix was in the back of the run, curled up in the corner with its back facing them. It was for this reason he couldn’t tell if it was a he or she, so instead he simply squatted down with a hand to balance him . He grimaced in disgust at the floor it was unsanitary. Clicking his tongue he’d attempt to get the dogs attention. ”Come here.” Tone was friendly, soft as he didn’t know the dogs past experience with humans and often dogs could be afraid of certain genders. He sure as hell hoped that wasn’t the case here.

The girl could hear rumbling somewhere outside, which was probably one of those large rolling things. She remembered seeing them when she had owners. Sometimes, she would have to be put in them and then took to other places. She wasn't particularly fond of them but when she was inside of them, she could look out the windows to see the landscape speeding by. Leroux heavily exhaled, she was used to the many sounds by now. A door opened and footsteps fallowed, probably just another visiting two-leg. The female could also hear snarling and whimpering from the other dogs. "Let me out of here!" and "Take me home!" They pleaded. They were going to walk past her run, they always usually did, they hardly ever stopped and if they did, it was just to stare and make noises at her.
She couldn't hear the footsteps anymore but she could feel a presence behind her. So, she had a visitor? Leroux didn't bother to look back, seemingly ignoring him. The girl stood to stretch with the little room she had. Correction. She had visitors. She eyed the two with ice-blue orbs. He made clicking noises and she looked at him strangely. ”Come here.” Leroux approached, coming closer to the one who called her. "Now what?" The girl pawed a little at the cage. He was a large human who had a smokey scent with green eyes and he had a male dog with him. She sat and prepared for more staring and noises.

------------------------ Alex could only watch the dog as he waited, hoping that she or he would react to his calls. A glance towards Mingo when his dog shifted his weight and peered around at the growling and barking dogs. He never got why so many people considered their actions aggressive. He knew if he was stuck in such a situation that he’d want to get out. It was obvious to him at least that most were trying to get someones attention, oh sure there might be a few that are just aggressive but he doubted all of them were. Movement from the corner of his eye caused him to look back into the run before him, watching as the dog heaved itself up and he took note that it was a female. Well that was a bonus, because aggression between opposite genders was rarer then aggression between same sex dogs. A soft sigh of relief escaped lips as the dog decided to approach the gate and even pawed at it. An amused smirk crossed lips as he shifted and placed a hand flat against the mesh of the fence. He was careful that none of his fingers slipped through, a test to see perhaps if the dog would try to bite him.
”What is a pretty girl like you doing in a dump like this huh girl?” He didn’t want to believe that some human had dumped her here. Now that she was standing she appeared to be a purebred which was no rare thing around these parts but still. Alex glanced towards Mingo when he stood and sniffed at the fence, watching his posture incase he decided to lunge for her. Of course the fence between them would keep both dogs safe. After a few moments he grinned and using his other hand stroked Mingos head. Mingo however was eying the dog inside the run. “You got a name? I’m Mingo. This is Dad.”

[/img]

[atrb=background,http://i39.tinypic.com/2whlchy.png] OOC - Sucky post is sucky. ;___; Leroux stood up again and looked at the human with observant ice-blue eyes. He had placed a hand on the cage, and as he did, the girl stepped back slightly. Then when everything seemed settled enough for her, she moved forward to sniff his hand with a moist nose. She could likely recognize who he was now if they were to ever meet again. Leroux could also tell that the two-leg was a male and even that he was a young adult. She finally finished taking in his scent and watched her two visitors, giving a low huff, showing him her approval of being able to stare and gawk at her. They looked at her, she looked at them. It wasn't the most exciting thing in the world, or perhaps was she really that amusing or attractive? "Say? Do you happen to have any food on you, human? I'm hungry..."Leroux was quite famished, so she hoped the human did happen to carry some food on him. Didn't all humans carry food on them? If she was able to wear all sorts of fabrics around her like them, she'd carry food all in the fabrics. ”What is a pretty girl like you doing in a dump like this huh girl?” She wasn't stupid and she could put two and two together. Was the two-leg calling her "pretty"? Her fluffy tail wagged a bit, she liked being talked to like this, and the human was even complimenting her! "Y-you're... pretty too, human..." Even though he lacked beautiful fur or nice vivid icy blue eyes like her's, or sharp teeth. ”I was looking for food and happened to wonder too close and they caught me... And I was put here...”She had spoke in a soft tone, disappointed in perhaps herself for ending up here. "My sister..." Her mind wondered to her sister. What was she doing? What was it like? Where was she? Was she happy? "Dump? It's more like a filthy hellhole if you asked me." Leroux quickly went back to being placid. "You got a name? I’m Mingo. This is Dad.” Her gaze wondered to the human's canine companion. "Mingo, huh? Name's Leroux. And I can see that." They didn't look so bad but she had enough with being a pet. She would just end up being abandoned. Leroux sighed, she also had enough with this place...

------------------------ He could only watch as the dog moved back for a few moments, before coming forward to sniff at his hand through the mesh of the fence. ”That’s a girl.” He murmured in amusement as she snorted shortly after she’d finished sniffing his hand. Did it smell funny or something? All Alex could understand were yips and whines for her words but a quick glance around her small run gave him a good idea what she was saying. Moving his hand from the fence he stood up some and plucked out some milk bones from his pocket, and offered it to her through the mesh. If she was hesitant to take it they’d be dropped through the mesh so she could grab them without fear.
After all it wasn’t like he could grab her through the mesh, of course dogs most likely don’t know that. Mingo seemed interested in what she was saying when he glanced at him. Mingo knew that most dogs here were ownerless so he didn’t ask her why her owners didn’t come get her or why she was looking for food. ”Daddy could get you out of this place. Hes looking to start a sled team.”
Mingo well he was a pet, kept inside in the house with his owner at nights while daddy had a kennel for the sled dogs. Of course Alex let Mingo out during the days, or he would once he had more dogs. A single dog was a bit of a target for wolves, no? ”Nice to meet you, Leroux.” Oh it’d be great if she joined the family it would. Alex was thinking the same thing while he watched the two dogs, Mingos posture and the huskies posture as well for any tell tale signs of aggression on either ones part. So far he was seeing none, which was a great relief to him. ”Would you like to come home with us girl? Get you out of this filthy place to somewhere clean and with room to run?” Alex had purchased a land with fifty acres for his dogs to roam and play while they weren’t training or racing or in the kennels. Might as well have plenty of room if you’re going to have active dogs, no? ------------------------ Word Count: 378 Song: Jai Ho - A.R Rahman Notes: No, this post is epic fail xD
